Our Story
Organology was founded from a deep passion for music, information technology, physics, history, and the sciences that help us understand sound and culture. Our goal is to create a space where knowledge about musical instruments can be documented, explored, and preserved.
Much of our instrument descriptions is developed using AI-assisted tools in combination with human editorial direction. This approach allows us to cover a wide range of instruments. Accuracy matters to us, but we also recognize that mistakes can happen—if you spot any, we’d love to hear from you!.
Organology is currently in Beta and we intend to develop it as a credible resource and reference, and that’s not an easy task. We strongly encourage you to contact us if you have a thoughtful feedback helps improve the quality of the entire project.

We are always looking ahead. Our vision is to ensure that the incredible diversity of musical instruments continues to be explored, appreciated, and passed down to future generations. We are constantly expanding our collection of resources and tools to inspire and educate music lovers, scholars, and researchers worldwide.
